About Pirate Pacesetters


















During late July 2012, the Wylie High School Pirate Pacesetters attended the Showtime International Line camp in Mesquite, TX. Under the direction of Michelle McGaughy and assistant Kris Sims, the Pacesetters brought home numerous team and individual awards. The team earned 98% Blue ribbons for outstanding individual performances and all members earned Showmanship (Sparkle) ribbons. On the second day of camp, the Pacesetters received the Most Admired Team of the Day Award which is voted on by the teams at camp. They were also awarded the Team Sweepstakes Award and a Home Routine Trophy with a score of 97. On final evaluations the Pacesetters received a score of 98 which was the highest score at camp!

There were 13 Pacesetters who were selected as finalists who could audition for the Kick Club and 22 Pacesetters who received All Star Ribbons for their dance technique or showmanship. Captain Brianne Gonzales was named Miss High Kick out of 40 girls. Also four members were named Elite Dancers, Brooke Burnham, Kaitlyn McDaniel, Brianne Gonzales and Bailee Weeks. Miss Showtime was awarded to Senior Lieutenant Brook Burnham.
